It probably took two full days to assembled the first IDOLCAM, lot of work. It was one of the most satisfying two days that I had for a very long time and it felt like sex the whole time, lol!! Love it, to be able to turn a vision into reality! For those out there who wanted to make something that's in your head for a very long time, just get out and get started and never look back!!
The tiny lens on Idolcam give telephoto lens look.
Most drone have gimbal on the bottom of the drone which covers 90 percent of the shots. But angle of look up while raising, or inspecting under the bridge, not to many drones can pull it off. Idolcam can be mounted on drones and get very stable videos!
Create block buster camera movements with Idolcam for cheap. We used a 12ft light stand and attached to a 4 foot long selfie stick to create a 20 foot tall job. Idolcam weights 245grams which is very light and easy to attach to the end of a telescopic stick to transform into a jib. We got some very interesting movements that even profession jibs will have trouble recreating.
This is a comparison between an action camera and Idolcam for reference as many ask what is the difference between other camera and Idolcam. Idolcam have the addition of a 4th axis to reduce vertical movement that 3 axis gimbal can't compensate. Our 4th axis is designed to be a handle just like a lot of handheld gimbal have a handle, but it double serve as a 4th axis.
Saw Moxy doing so awesome skateboard tricks and he is nice enough to let me film. Shot with Idolcam 60fps at 2.5K.
My Friend Timothy Shonnard is bold enough to shoot his commercial video job completely with the Idolcam to see how it perform. Here are some back stage footage shot by a second Idolcam, no color correction, straight from camera.
2018 American Tulip Day in San Francisco Union Square! Over 100,000 Tulips are free for the public to take home. Such a great event. Look out for the Humming bird on the first Clip!
Naomi Wu aka "Sexycyborg" and I having a blast testing the Idolcam in the HuaQiangBei Electronic mall in Shenzhen. Shot on the Fisheye lens, just like ones on action cameras.
